Facebook reporting system leaves much to be desired…

OK, so I love how Facebook’s reporting system works:

If you find content touting child abuse, sexual assault and rape, or domestic abuse you have the option to choose “Violence” or “Sexually explicit content”, however, the drop down menu only allows you to pick “credible threat of violence”, “Self-harm”, “Suicidal content”, “Graphic violence”, “Drug use”, and “Theft or vandalism”.

Not cool.

Hey, look what Facebook has now! There’s one for loads of different cities and all of them are mainly men talking about women like they’re reviewing cars. On the actual page the names aren’t blurred. I’ve already reported this one.

Holyyyyyy

Yes this is why we women hate you men, most of you may not actively participate, but you tacitly condone this behavior when you don’t have to impress a woman, and help make the world less safe for us all. Ugh you all make me fucking sick.

This makes me sick to my stomach.

If you guys have Facebook accounts, please find these pages and report them. Don’t stop reporting them until they are removed.

Please reblog this so more people can see it and report the pages.

Love,

Rabble

In all seriousness I made this because it’s one of my pet peeves for guys to assume I’m dressing up/wearing makeup for THEM, but then after I made this, I’m like holy shit I made that hair dryer fuck that shoe. So then I had two reasons to put it on tumblr.

Yes. I hear guys the exclaim, “But I loooooove women!” And what they’re usually telling me is I love to jerk off to them, I love to objectify them, sexualize them… and that’s it. That’s what you love so much. But they don’t see how different that is.

Here’s the link to the currently circulating post that made me write that little quip. :-)
It’s about more than just this book though. Much more. Sexy feminism obviously isn’t just some title somebody pulled out of their ass.
Sexy feminism is why Slutwalk is so popular and gets a lot of media attention, etc. but Take Back the Night gets none.
Sexy feminism is one feminism, or hell, one woman (feminist or not) saying she’s fine with porn and sometimes even watches it…. so now all the serious, relevant, and valid critiques of porn are pushed aside because “women like it too”. The notion of “queer feminist porn” becomes the focus, and other problems are never addressed.
Sexy feminism is why the ever-so-problematic “sex positive” movement gets lots of guys on board, but a movement that is “radical” does not.
Sexy feminism is the idea of men being down with women exploring, embracing, and displaying their sexuality… as long as it fits with a very narrow-minded view of what is “sexy” to them. The fact that it could be empowering to a woman is secondary to the fact that a man likes it. But if a man likes it, then it’s acceptable, and it will get attention.
Sometimes we can get tired of fighting and so we just take the easy way out. Sexy feminism is an easy way out that as far as I’m concerned, doesn’t do much for anybody except maintain the status quo.

A friend of mine wrote this on my hand, “It hurts me worse”. How does me cutting myself hurt you worse? You weren’t the one who felt worthless and like you wanted to die. You weren’t the one who felt so alone because you didn’t have anyone to talk to. You weren’t the one who cried so hard that you couldn’t breathe and you physically began to hurt. I guarantee that it hurts me worse.

I can relate.  I’ve had loved ones say, “If you feel like cutting, think about how much it will hurt ME”, and, “You think you’re just hurting yourself, but you are hurting everyone who loves and cares about you”, and “Cutting yourself hurts me too, think about that. If you really love me, you won’t cut”.  I just want to to scream and scream and scream at them until I can’t scream anymore.
